Letamo (Pty) Ltd exists to build technology businesses around real-world problems and opportunities. Applications, platforms and digital products are simply the instruments we use to deliver that value.

Why we exist
Some of Africa's greatest opportunities are hiding in plain sight.
Households book tradespeople through word of mouth. Businesses put critical systems online without anyone checking how exposed they are. The demand is real and growing; what is missing is the infrastructure underneath it.
Letamo sees the underserved and informal economy as a major opportunity for responsible digitalisation. The objective is not to replace what exists, but to build infrastructure around it.
We would rather own a small number of companies that matter to the people they serve than a long list that does not.

We are not passive investors. Letamo originates, capitalises and operates the companies it holds.

Most of our companies start inside Letamo. We fund them, staff them and take them to their first customers rather than waiting for someone else to prove the market.

We stay close to customers, markets and business realities. A venture is run, not monitored from a distance.

We improve the technology, team, operations and economics of every company we hold, rather than leaving them to find their own way.
We hold
Letamo stays the long-term owner. We are not looking for a quick exit, which means our companies can make decisions on a multi-year horizon.
